Marike De Jager was born in Kestell, Eastern Free state before moving to White River, Mpumalanga where she completed her school education at Rob Ferreira High School. This is where her love for sport and passion for healthy living started to bloom.
Marike studied ASC Human Movement Science with Physiology and went on to do her Honours degree in Biokinetics (BSc). She completed both degrees at
the Founder University of Biokinetics in Potchefstroom, after which she moved
back to Nelspruit to complete her internship at LowMed Clinic in the Sport and Performance Group of Biokineticists.
Marike has had great experience working with the Blue Bulls Rugby Union and
later with the Pumas Rugby Union, concentrating on sports injury
rehabilitation, performance and maintenance. She also worked with Beeld
Trofee winners of the Macro School rugby teams and as the Conditioning Coach at Nelspruit High School. She was appointed as the senior Lions 7’s Biokineticist in 2016 as well as the Cobras 7’s Biokineticist in 2015. Both these positions are still ongoing. Marike is also a senior instructor for RockTape where she lectures and presents CPD courses for other health
professionals. Marike is focused on providing individual and group classes for patients with sports injuries as well as assisting clients who are interested in developing a healthier and balanced lifestyle. She is passionate about helping people achieve a healthy body and mind through Biokinetics and teaching them how to help themselves.
